Tameson seeks a remote Paid Ads Acquisition Manager & Data Engineer to grow all paid channels and leverage data engineering to measure impact. Independent contractor role.

Job description

Who is Tameson

Tameson is a global ecommerce industrial supply company. We help engineers, buyers, and SMBs select the right components by combining a broad product range with deep technical knowledge, clear documentation, and practical decision support. Our focus is on accuracy, reliability, and making complex technical choices easier.

Role Mission

Drive Tameson's growth by efficiently allocating capital across all paid channels and leveraging data engineering to measure impact. You will balance immediate customer acquisition with long-term brand positioning, ensuring every marketing dollar contributes to scalable revenue and market visibility. You are responsible for the end-to-end architecture of our paid media efforts, from the data pipelines that power them to the strategic decisions that optimize them.

Role Business Outcome

Tameson achieves scalable growth through data-driven paid acquisition strategies that maximize ROAS while enhancing brand recognition. Your success is defined by the ability to build reliable data infrastructure, execute rigorous experiments, and manage a diverse portfolio of channels to acquire high-value B2B customers efficiently.

You are accountable for:

  • Scalable Acquisition & Branding: Managing spend across Search, Social, Display, and Marketplaces to drive both direct sales and brand visibility.

  • Data Integrity & Insights: Building and maintaining the data engineering infrastructure required for accurate tracking, reporting, and automated decision-making.

  • Experimentation: Designing and measuring scientific tests that prove the value of marketing initiatives.

  • Efficiency: Systematically identifying and cutting wasted spend to reallocate budget toward high-impact opportunities.

Success is evaluated on Profit on Ad Spend (POAS), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), brand lift metrics, and the reliability of the marketing data ecosystem.

Role Core Ownership Areas

  1. Multi-Channel Acquisition Strategy

    1. Business Outcome: Optimize a mix of immediate conversion and long-term brand equity across all paid channels.

      1. Portfolio Management: Own budget allocation across all paid channels (Search, Social, Display, ChatGPT, Marketplaces, etc.) based on performance and strategic goals.

      2. Full-Funnel Execution: Execute strategies that balance granular search campaigns for high-intent B2B buyers with display/video campaigns for brand recognition.

      3. Strategic Bidding & Targeting: Deploy advanced bidding and geotargeting to focus spend on high-value industrial hubs while minimizing waste in non-serviceable regions.

  2. Marketing Data Engineering & Automation

    1. Business Outcome: Enable real-time performance insights and automated ad creation through robust data infrastructure.

      1. Infrastructure & Feed Logic: Manage the technical foundation. This includes maintaining tracking pipelines (pixels, server-side) and owning feed logic (Channable, Merchant Center) to automatically transform ERP data into marketing-ready assets.

      2. KPI Reporting & Dashboards: Build and own the reporting layer using Looker Studio and BigQuery, providing automated transparency into key metrics (CAC, ROAS, LTV).

      3. Cross-Functional Data Support: Act as the data specialist for the broader marketing function, supporting SEO and Product teams with data analysis and measurement frameworks.

  3. Experimentation & Market Intelligence

    1. Business Outcome: Evolve marketing through rigorous testing and proactive competitive analysis.

      1. Experiment Design: Design and measure robust A/B and CRO tests to validate channels, creatives, and strategies, ensuring statistical significance.

      2. Business Case Development: Analyze data to build business cases for strategic pivots or budget changes rather than simply executing tactical lists.

      3. Competitor Analysis: Monitor the global landscape to propose actionable strategies that counter competitor moves and capture market share.

Job requirements

  • End to end ownership: Ability to independently own complex initiatives from problem definition through execution and accountability for results.

  • Data Engineering & Analytics: Proven experience in marketing data engineering. You are skilled in setting up tracking, managing data pipelines, SQL, and building dashboards.

  • Strategic Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex datasets to identify risks and growth opportunities, and translate those insights into concrete business plans and budget reallocations.

  • Paid Media Expertise: Deep understanding of paid acquisition across multiple channels (Search, Social, Marketplaces, etc.). You understand how to balance direct response with branding objectives.

  • Product and technical expertise: Mid-level technical understanding to understand that a "solenoid valve" is a high-volume keyword, but "coaxial valve" is a high-value niche and to bid accordingly.

  • AI and LLM initiative: Enthusiasm for using AI, LLMs, and agents to improve personal productivity, enable new internal workflows, and inspire others to adopt similar approaches.

  • Scientific Mindset: Experience designing and analyzing experiments. You rely on data to make decisions and can distinguish between signal and noise.

  • Systems learning: Ability to continuously learn how advertising algorithms and discovery systems evolve and apply those insights through experimentation and iteration.

  • Remote and independent work: Ability to work independently in a remote setup while collaborating effectively within an international and dynamic team.

  • Language skills: Fluency in English, with understanding of Dutch, French, German, and/or Spanish considered a plus.

  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization, including close partnership with Product and Operations teams.

Role Work Conditions

  • Employment type: Full time position.

  • Working hours: Flexible work hours, with availability required Monday through Friday and a minimum overlap of 12:00–17:00 GMT+1.

  • Contract type: You will join us as an independent contractor. Due to the substantial differences between labor and business laws in each country, the easiest way to hire talent outside of our registered countries is through freelance contracts.
